Given that Hakan Calhanoglu could leave later this month, Milan are evaluating several players for the position of no.10. Rodrigo De Paul appears to be the signature of dreams, but there are some alternatives if they fail to catch it.
According to Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanNews), De Paul is in fact the Rossoneri’s first choice for the role but the negotiations with Udinese are very tough. The price to be paid is believed to be around € 40 million, a significant figure.
So, to be prepared, Milan also have a few other names on their wish list. Two of them are Papu Gomez and Josip Ilicic: two highly experienced players who know Serie A and know how to be decisive.
Gomez left Atalanta for Sevilla in January but perhaps he could say yes to a return to Italy as early as this summer. As for Ilicic, his arrival would only be possible at low cost, which is not known whether Atalanta would accept.
