Pioli confirms that Calabria is coming out with “pelvic pain” but insists he is not worried

Stefano Pioli confirmed that Davide Calabria left the pitch with a slight injury problem, but there is nothing to worry about.

After Amad Diallo’s header opened the scoring, the excellent Simon Kjaer scored with a corner header in the second minute of added time to give Milan a well-deserved draw but also a crucial away goal in view of the return next week.

Dan James could have increased the lead for United with just under 20 minutes left when a one-two allowed Fernandes to straighten the goal, but the Welshman failed to connect cleanly with the ball and has widened the first time with the open-mouthed goal. Calabria essentially gave way soon after with Pierre Kalulu coming off the bench to replace him as right-back.

Pioli spoke to the media after the game during the post-game press conference, and as per MilanNews he was asked the following question from a news report: “Was he out due to an injury or a technical choice about the change in Calabria?”

Pioli replied: “Davide is doing exceptional things. He was suffering from pelvic pain, he’s out but I don’t think that’s a worrying thing. The medical staff takes care of him and I hope to have him available for Sunday. He always wants to play. “
